Barcelona take a slender lead against schalke.

Barcelona will be odds-on favourites to meet either United or Roma in the Champions League semi-finals, after their first leg victory over Schalke 04 in Germany.

The Catalan giants won 1-0 through a 17th minute strike from Bojan Krkic. The 17-year-old prodigy stabbed in Thierry Henry's cross to become the second-youngest scorer in Champions League history.

Schalke had more than their fair share of chances to draw level, but Kevin Kuranyi, Soren Larsen, Marcelo Bordon and Halal Altintop all spurned opportunities.

A rash of late bookings for both sides saw the match draw to an ill-tempered close, but Barca will expect to book a last-four berth in next Wednesday's second leg at Camp Nou.
